Curly Dock (Rumex Crispus) is a very common perennial weed here in Colorado. Found in open spaces, pastures and ditches, it is considered to be one of the most widely distributed weeds in the world!

Each plant is capable of producing thousands of seeds and can easily be distributed because the seeds have little wings on them. The viability of seeds in the soil are 80 years and plants produce an average of 30,000 seeds per year!

This is why weed identification is important. Two Curly Dock plants living in a mulch bed outside a store. I gave them a year but year two I decided to post it. Know your plants!
